Accommodation
We'll be staying in two restful, neighbouring buildings that combine Andalucian and Moroccan elements in Sanlúcar's old quarter.
One of our bases is a town house built for a seventeenth-century merchant. There are relaxing, communal areas filled with banquettes, cushions and low tables as well as more secluded, shady places - good for writing, reading or just unwinding. The house has a small library and an inviting kitchen but probably what you’ll remember most is the large roof-terrace with its views to the sea and the ancient town of Medina Sidonia. The bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms and air-conditioning, they're all very comfortably furnished. You can help yourself or a friend to a cold drink whenever you feel like one from the small honesty bar. There’ll also be fruit, nuts and olives available if you’d like a snack during any part of the day.

The other building has an out-of-time atmosphere, its entrance filled with ferns, a well, and ochre paintwork. Although it's not large, it feels spacious with numerous patios, balconies and terraces covered in jasmine and orange-blossom. There’s a pretty courtyard and a spectacular roof-terrace with views over the town, this is a great place to socialise and to have readings or maybe listen to flamenco guitar on some evenings in June and September.
