Flamenco Guitar Classes

with Manuel Alfonseca Diaz 25 - 30 June and 8 - 13 September

Course Details

On a cool patio filled with plants and citrus trees or sometimes in an inspiring music- room you can take a 5-day course with a virtuoso performer and skilled teacher who is passionate about communicating this subtle, exciting art form.
The course is open to beginners, lower intermediate, upper intermediate and advanced students.
The aspects of flamenco guitar covered during these sessions will include: methods, exercises, playing solo and playing to accompany singers and dancers.  Classes will normally be individual to ensure that each student can work on the element that they most want to learn, improve or perfect.
We can provide a guitar or you are welcome to bring your own. Classes will take place in the mornings for approximately 2 hours.  There’ll be plenty of time for you to practise in the afternoons or evenings.

Manuel Alfonseca Diaz - Biography

(stage name: Manuel Lin)

Manuel was born in 1958 in Sanlúcar de Barrameda and started to play guitar during his first years at school.

He went on to train at the Diego Gomez Academy where he began to perfect his technical and artistic skills. Simultaneously, he took his first steps as a solo artist, giving recitals on stage and in peñas (small flamenco clubs for aficionados of the music).

He currently combines being a professor at Sanlúcar’s Academy of Music with having a career as a highly accomplished performer; using "Manuel Lin" as his stage name. He has worked with many singers well known in the flamenco world, including Maria Vargas, Pepe Sanlúcar, El Nono, Laura Vital and Cynthia Murphy in theatres and peñas in Spain, France, Belgium and Italy.

He has won numerous awards, including the Vejer de la Frontera award for best accompanist.
